You put it as war because of the stuff involving the Garo/the king and his soldiers, but the curse sweeping across the canyon could just as easily be described as representing plague, or the entire region could be seen as representing "death", as almost everything there is an undead-type enemy. Like tends to be the case with stuff like that (or the "set of 7 = 7 sins" ideas that are sorta like a brother/sister counterpart to the "4 = 4 horsemen" cases ) some work decently well, but then others are just as easily interchangeable or stretchesįor example, Ikana Canyon alone could easily be argued for 3 (maybe even all 4) of the horsemen Personally I think this is, like most "set of 4 = horseman" a bit of a stretch But it is interesting to point out any such similarities. ![]() So because these themes don't fit cleanly in with the four lands, I don't think any of it was intentional on the part of the developers. War could apply to the Southern Swamp as the Deku and monkeys are in conflict with one another, Snowhead as there is talk of the Gorons being in some war in which Darmani was made a hero, or Ikana which is at war with the Garo.įamine could apply to Snowhead with its snow preventing the Gorons from getting food, Great Bay with its polluted waters preventing the Zora from getting food, or Ikana with its dry valley preventing anything from growing there.ĭeath could apply to Snowhead as the Gorons die from the cold, Great Bay as the Zora die from the polluted waters (and Lulu's eggs are threatened to die because of the change in the water's temperature), or Ikana which is literally a land of the dead filled with zombies, mummies, and skeletons. Pestilence could apply to the Southern Swamp because of the poisoned waters, Great Bay because of its polluted waters, or Ikana because of its curse that prevents the dead from moving on. Pestilence isn't actually a Horseman it's just something that Death has control over.Įven if we assume that the developers chose the wrong Four Horsemen (Pestilence instead of Conquest) by mistake, it's still worth noting that several of the lands can be argued to embody multiple Horsemen attributes. They're actually Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. The actual Biblical Four Horsemen aren't Pestilence, Famine, Death, and War. I just beat it again for the first time in almost 20 years and just came up with this silly theory from my experience. * Remember this is a game about a worlds last 72 hours before the apocalypse.* This is a kingdom and kingdoms need defending, even if it means war. Ikana: War- Igos Du Ikana is prepared for war. ![]() What does it mean when the villain plans to silence someone. And you as Link with the mask bring him back, somewhat. The Gorons have suffered from hunger before. In Ocarina of Time, young Link has to defeat Dodongo so that the Gorons can EAT again. Snowhead: Famine - The scar on Darmanis stomach symbolizes hunger. ![]() Poison to Dekus or any plant causes disease. Maybe not all of Termina but each area has its own horsemen. Woodfall: Pestilence - The poison in Southern Swamp.
